When was the last time you were present with your body? In the fast-paced world we live in, it can be easy to dissociate from the body, causing us to store unprocessed stress in the body. This can lead to symptoms like chronic tension, anxiety, chronic pain, decreased mobility, poor posture, digestive issues, and low mood. Somatic healing can bring us deeper into relationship with the body and untangle the layers of emotion and tension that get stuck there. This workshop is a chance for you to come back home to your body and release tension through deep awareness, gentle movement, and healing self-bodywork. We’ll explore how you can work with your nervous system to regulate yourself through gentle practices and techniques that you can use in your everyday life. Come as you are and leave feeling centered and refreshed.
ABOUT SOMATICS:
The word "somatic" means "of or relating to the body."
Somatic healing is a body-centered modality that looks at the connection of mind and body for holistic healing. Somatic Stress Release is a system taught by Dr. Scott Lyons, which employs the use of movement therapy approaches, muscular-fascial release work, bodywork, breath work, authentic movement practices, somatic experiencing and much more to help clients build resilience, unblock stuck emotions, and release tension. Because of the variety of tools that are used in this modality, it is accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Who is this for?
Somatic Stress Release is for anyone who is dealing with chronic stress, chronic fatigue, burnout, chronic pain, depression, or anxiety; wants support processing difficult emotions through a somatic approach; or wants to build resilience and change their relationship with stress.
