In our fast-paced modern world, it is common to operate with chronically high cortisol levels—our body's primary stress hormone—leaving many of us stuck in a loop of anxiety, tension, and fight-or-flight mode. This evening is designed as a direct antidote to that state.
Rhythms of Release is an immersive journey designed to help you shift out of your head and into the wisdom of your body. Set within the expansive beauty of the Yates Memorial Theatre, this experience blends gentle somatic guidance with the ancient power of sound healing to soothe your nervous system and lower stress levels.
No dance experience is needed. This is not about choreography or performance; it is about exploring your own unique rhythm in a judgment-free environment to release what you no longer need to carry.
The Journey
This evening moves in a flowing wave. We begin with stillness and soft sounds, gradually building into expressive, free-form movement guided by rhythm, and ultimately melting back into a deep, restorative calm.
The experience culminates in a profound Sound Healing bath, where the resonant vibrations of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls wash over the theatre space. These frequencies are known to help down-regulate the nervous system, dissolve lingering tension, and integrate the energy you’ve moved.

- A Spacious Container: The Yates Theatre provides ample room for you to move freely and explore your range of motion without feeling crowded.
- Your Pace, Your Practice: All forms of expression are welcome. Whether your body needs big, expressive movement, gentle swaying, or profound stillness, you are encouraged to follow your internal guidance. Rest is always available.

Event Details & What to Bring
- Attire: Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily. Layers are recommended, as your body temperature can change between movement and stillness.
- Hydration: Bring a water bottle.
- Comfort: For the sound bath portion, please bring a yoga mat, blanket, and perhaps a small pillow/bolster so you can lie down comfortably on the floor, stay warm, and fully surrender to the sound.
- Arrival: Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in at the Yates and settle into the space before we begin.
