A short introduction to somatic nervous system regulation will:
- Illustrate how the nervous system works, with 80% of it carrying signals from the body to the brain.
- Show you how to identify key signs and symptoms of nervous-system dysregulation, such as SLEEP & DIGESTION ISSUES, HYPERVIGILANCE, BRAIN FOG, PROCRASTINATION, DISSOCIATION and EMOTIONAL HYPER-SENSITIVITY.
- Teach you how to map your current state and choose appropriate exercises to shift to your desired state.
The somatic nervous-system reset practice will take us on an embodied journey with a series of simple techniques to help us shift from overwhelm, freeze, or fight-or-flight to balance, safety and homeostasis.
Simple. Powerful. Embodied. You have everything you need in your body to help you shift! And best of all, you can access these techniques any time you need them. All it takes is some awareness and the willingness to take a few minutes to care for yourself.
Please bring your yoga mat, water and a blanket. Everyone will receive a handout they can take home, so bring a pen or pencil to take some notes.
