Solo Thematic Bharatanatyam Performance - Kodaiyin Kanavu, Andal's Dream

I’m celebrating the 20th anniversary of my first ever solo production, one that will always hold a special place in my heart and in my repertoire, "Kodaiyin Kanavu"! We’ve woven Andal’s emotional journey that is recorded so exquisitely in her poetry, nAchiyAr thirumOzhi, into a visual storytelling. The imagery in Kodai’s dream, vAraNamAyiram, and the potential for visualization of building sand castles as a young girl, so reflective of the oldest pieces of literature we have, the Sangam poems, played initial inspiration for creating this thematic production.

I invite you to journey with me on this 80 min immersive performance that celebrates tamil poetry, storytelling, and movement. Text consultation by my dear father in law, Sri. A. Bharat, choreography mentored by Smt. Poornima Ashok, and music composed and rendered by Sri. D. Srivatsa.
