This session will enable attendees to explore and compare different investment options, including community focused options such as the . It will provide an overview on evaluating a healthy community project and provide an overview of the financial practices and approaches of the CST.
Lunch will be provided at 11:30am, session begins promptly at 12:00 pm.
LEARNING GOALS:
- Understand the importance of financial literacy in households and organizations
- Recognize a few different investment options, including the benefits, limitations, and potential returns of each (savings accounts, stocks, REITs, the CST, etc.)
- Understand what it means for a real estate project or enterprise to be financially healthy using some relevant financial indicators and practices
- Be aware of some possible financial challenges that face organizations like the CST
- Gain a clear idea of the unique financial practices and approach of the CST, and how these relate to its values and goals
