Event Summary:
Creative Island, Portsmouth Creates and Southampton Forward are pleased to invite you to the first Solent Cultural Forum on Thursday April 3rd 2025, from 11am till 2pm at Southampton Football Club in the Mick Channon Suite.
Designed as an opportunity to connect, share and better understand the context and current dynamics across the Solent this is an informal gathering of all those working in and contributing to the culture of our region. Given the speed and scale of changes happening with Local Authority reorganisation, Devolution, the next Arts Council NPO process and recent shift in Museum Development it feels increasingly important that we make time to connect with and better understand the work and ambitions of those around us.
By way of context, we are planning contributions from the political leadership of the three local authorities and the Arts Council. It will also be an opportunity to share the results of the research and current position of a Solent Cultural Plan, commissioned in different times by ACE and LEP.
Check-in & coffees are available from 10:30am. A light buffet will be included.
Venue & Accessibility:
The Forum will be held in the Mick Channon Suite. Whatever your access requirements, we will do our best to accomodate. We have elevators locatied around the stadium for access to our event spaces. Travel to the Stadium:
By Car: There's no general admission parking onsite at the stadium. However, there are plenty of car parking options nearby.
By Train: The closest station to the stadium is Southampton Central Station, from there you can travel to the station by foot or car.
By Foot: Access into the stadium is best reached via Marine Parade, Britannia Road or via the Railway Footbridge off Northam Road.
