About this Event
We are delighted to welcome back the Mobile Print Studio to share their love of woodcut. Discover the timeless art of woodcut printmaking in this hands-on workshop. In this class, you'll learn to transform your own hand-drawn design into a unique woodcut print, carved into high-quality Asian plywood using traditional tools. Whether you're new to printmaking or looking to move beyond linocut, this workshop will deepen your skills and creativity. You’ll explore how to:
· Simplify complex objects into bold, graphic shapes
· Use line and texture to add detail, tone, and atmosphere
· Safely handle and carve with specialist woodcut tools.
You will create an image on your woodblock which can be printed multiple times.
Mobile Print Studio was co-founded by artists David Farrar and Fionnuala McGowan in 2015. They deliver pop up workshops that introduce people to the joys of printmaking.
