TACNY offers an annual STEM Trekkers program in the summer where middle schoolers experience an opportunity in science, technology, engineering, and math. This year’s program has a focus on aerodynamics, bio-materials and polymers, and lake science. These STEM concepts are locally connected to industry and organizations in our community!Who Should Attend?
Any student entering grades 5 thru 9 with an interest in learning new things, asking questions, and seeing the “why” and “how” flight works in nature and aircraft, improving materials, polymers, and lake science!

Where?
July 16 – 18 at Syracuse University from 8:30 – 4:30. Swag, snacks, lunch and field trips all included for free! Drop off and pick up for all sessions is Link Hall, Syracuse University.
Session Overview:
- Tues, July 16th: Lake Mixing Project with Syracuse University Professor, Dr. Svetoslava Todorova and engineering students; Tour of ESF, Tour of Onondaga Lake Restoration Center
- Wed, July 17th: Bio-materials with Syracuse University Professor Dr. Eric Finkelstein; Tour of SUNY ESF Polymer Department
- Thurs, July 18th: Aerodynamics with Syracuse University Professor Dr. Yiyang Sun and engineering students, supersonic airplane activity
Note: Please note that students who can attend all three days will be considered first for entry into the program
