Join this workshop to learn the differences between these techniques and how they originated.
Make and Create samples of these techniques in this unique workshop.
Students will be able to distinguish between the above terms and successfully stitch a sample of each technique.
Boro, piecing, patching and stitching fabrics
Shashiko, stitching for decoration/functional reinforcement of cloth
Kawandi, hand stitched quilt from scraps of fabric – unique as it is worked from the outside inwards
Kantha, running stitches in parallel lines
Slow Stitch, old hand stitching traditions with a creative and expressive purpose
