Built in circa 1390, the Medieval Guildhall was home to a guild of monks and priests, before it became a significant meeting place in the English Civil War before and after the city was besieged by Royalist forces. It's believed in the late 1500s that William Shakespeare performed a play at the Guildhall, with legend saying this was where he got his inspiration to write the play 'King Lear'. In the Victorian period, Leicester's first ever police force were stationed here at the Guildhall, and from 1926 through to today, it is a museum which sees thousands of visitors every year.
Many ghosts haunt the Guildhall, including a White Lady who roams the building, a Black Cat who runs quickly down the staircase in the Great Hall, and a Medieval Monk who walks slowly in prayer state, turning the pages of the Bible placed on the table in the Library. On our last investigation here we experienced several paranormal occurrences, including a teddy bear found knocked over on the staircase with no one near it. Will any of these spiritual energies make their presences known on the night?
