We always look forward with great excitement to what has become our annual ‘It’s not really close enough to Christmas to sing a Christmas song, but we’ll play one anyway!’ gig with Henry Priestman and Les Glover. Last year they were joined by the fabulous Dave Buckley on percussion and we’re delighted to say he’ll be back again this November. If you’ve been fortunate enough to see Henry and Les perform before, you’ll know that they are both born entertainers with a repertoire of fabulous songs appealing to both young and old.
In 2013 Henry Priestman (Yachts, It's Immaterial, The Christians) & Les Glover began a collaboration sparking a long and fruitful musical partnership.
Their joint album (Six of One & Half a Dozen of the Other), was released to glowing reviews and a number 13 position in the Mojo playlist chart, with Mark Kermode describing it as "a thing of beauty".
The pair travel around the UK, frequenting venues great and small and can often be spotted performing in living rooms, narrow boats and the occasional old tin shed. Don't be fooled by the quaint and quirky locations; the two are no strangers to large crowds, having sold out numerous theatre shows and making regular appearances at music festivals (such as Folk on the Farm, Bandfest, Stockton Festival, Folk on the Dock, Moonbeams Festival and Fleetwood Folk & Blues Festival).
Henry and Les have a loyal following, comprising not just of Men of a Certain Age, but of men, women and children of all ages. They have carried out several music workshops at schools in their community, resulting in a published children's poem, "The Smellysaurus".
Although this gig is SOLD OUT you are welcome to get in touch and place your name on a reserve list in the event of any cancellations.
