Stitch slow, create beauty: Transform recycled materials into beautiful bookmarks.

Learn the art of slow stitching to create beautiful bookmarks from recycled materials. Slow stitching is a mindful and meditative practice that allows you to connect with your creativity while promoting sustainability.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Discover the principles of slow stitching and its benefits for relaxation and mindfulness.
  • Learn various stitching techniques to create unique and personalized bookmarks.
  • Use recycled fabrics and materials, giving new life to items that might otherwise go to waste.

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a complete beginner, this workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to slow down, unwind, and create something beautiful and functional. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any fabric scraps or materials you'd like to incorporate into your bookmarks.

Experience: No previous experience necessary.

Equipment: All materials and equipment will be provided.


About the Facilitator:

This workshop is run by local artist Mary-Helen Daly. She is a qualified Transpersonal Art Therapist who works with people of all ages to access joy and wellbeing through creativity.

  • For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
