Join Sojourner House on Friday, November 21st for our 15th and FINAL Masquerade Ball– our largest fundraising event of the year!To celebrate the end of this beautiful era in our organization's history, we’re traveling back in time to Renaissance Italy, the birthplace of the masquerade ball. The official theme is....Venetian Twilight!
During the cocktail hour, costumed gondoliers will serenade guests, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. Later, New England’s premiere vintage dance company, The Tropigals, will dazzle the ballroom with a glamorous performance dressed in cascading feathers. And to end the night— the sweetest finish! We have five local bakeries competing in a themed cake competition! We’re anticipating cakes with gondolas, cakes inspired by Renaissance artwork (Mona Lisa, Sistine Chapel, Birth of Venus, etc.), and cakes meant to pay homage to classic Italian desserts (tiramisu, cannoli, affogato).
This event has been such a cornerstone for our agency and we’re excited to celebrate it one final time and look ahead to what comes next!
Through the event, we aim to raise $200,000 to support our ongoing victim advocacy and violence prevention work. So by buying a ticket and treating yourself to an elegant evening out, you’ll be helping survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in your community access safe shelter, rental assistance, emotional counseling, legal services and more!
