About this Event

Experience the soothing power of yin yoga to release tension and calm the mind, followed by the deeply restorative practice of yoga nidra in our 2 hour yoga workshop with Emma and Tanya. It's the perfect way to unwind, rejuvenate, and nurture your body and soul as we enter the cosy season.

Yin Yoga

Led by Tanya, with assists by Emma, yin yoga involves passive poses held for longer than in more dynamic types of yoga and it focuses on the body’s connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons and fascia. It also offers the opportunity to relax and has a range of mental benefits including mindfulness and reducing stress and anxiety.


Yoga Nidra

Led by Emma, and supported by Tanya, yoga nidra or yoga sleep, practiced lying down or in a supported seated position, leads you into a state of deep relaxation and has numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits associated with it, including improved sleep, physical relaxation, stress reduction, enhanced creativity and learning, and increased self-awareness.


For an afternoon of deep relaxation and rest, all you need to do is turn up.


About Tanya & Emma

Tanya & Emma met during their yoga teacher training in Morcco. Since then Tanya has transistioned from her career as an accountant with start ups into a yoga studio manager role. Emma has continued with her career in elite sports working with athletes in a senior performance lifestlyle role, and also teaching regular yoga classes.


Brining their own styles and different ways of teaching across various types of yoga, what unites them is their passion and commitment to help people step back and switch off from their busy lives using yoga and its teachings.


Emma and Tanya now deliver local day retreats in Richmond to support Londoners in getting that retreat feeling without having to travel far for it!


Wear: Wear comfortable, relaxed clothes that will enable gentle movement and keep you warm (layers and socks are a great idea).


Bring: Everything you need for the session is available at the studio including yoga mats, bolsters and other yoga props. You're also welcome to bring your own mat with you and a blanket that you can use for comfort or to wrap around you in the yoga nidra part of the session is a great idea too. If you use a yoga eye pillow, or sleep mask you could also bring that (some will be available at the studio).

How to get there

Yogahaven Richmond is just a short hop from Richmond station, turn right and walk for approximately 1 minute along Kew Road to find the studio! Richmond station is served by tube and overground, along with lots of buses that stop right outside, including the 65, 90, 190, 290, 391 – this list goes on! If you’re pedal powered, you can lock your bike up right in front of the studio.
