About this Event
'Social prescribing is a way for local agencies to refer people to a link worker. Link workers give people time, focusing on ‘what matters to me’ and taking a holistic approach to people’s health and wellbeing. They connect people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.' (NHS UK)
A panel discussion around the ins and outs of Social Prescribing from a variety of perspectives -- GP, social prescribing link worker, project leader, academic, and participants. Hear how social prescribing works in Bristol from those involved.
**Lucy Jones -- 'Why Our Minds Need The Wild' follows on after this panel discussion, after a short break, at 6 pm. Separate eventbrite registration required. Lucy's talk will touch on similar issues from a more general (less Bristol-based) perspective. **
Participants: Lucy Duggan, The Human Nature Project; Will Shapp, social prescribing link worker; Sam Walton, author of Everybody Needs Beauty.
