Schools, families, and in some cases, entire countries, are grappling with how to manage the interface between social media and youth. Parents and educators alike can see that there are implications surrounding social media that are uncomfortable: we don’t fully understand the cognitive effects, and we don’t know how to weigh the positives and negatives sensibly against each other.
Coast Mountain Academy invites parents and anyone interested in deliberating this topic to a moderated discussion hosted by Mr. Court Ashbaugh, Head of Senior School.
“There will be no formal presentation or keynote speaker who claims to be an expert and we are not driven by a desire to reach any comfortable conclusions. The dialogue will come from you. If this interests you, please join us with your ideas, concerns, and an open mind.” - Mr. Ashbaugh
