6 days in the woods with Hazel, author of Social Forestry, offering a chance to reconnect with forests through ecological knowledge, use of hand tools and woodscrafts, season festivals and work cycles, children's stories, pilgrimages and stewardship covenants. We will learn ecological assessment, carbon sequestration methods, restoration forestry and the crafts and products that can be enjoyed while we are re-establishing our heart space and wonder in the woods. This hands-on course includes underburning, forest management, coppicing, crafts and more. It is held at Wolf Gulch Farm where Hazel has designed and maintained an experimental social forestry operation over the last 20 years. Most students camp at the site, enjoying a pop-up community.
This annual offering is in it's 12th year, and dearly loved by many. Lots more information can be seen on our website.
