Social Drive II: Western Loop - Sunday, 10th November 2024
JOIN US on the second Sunday of November for our second Social Drive of the year, this time hitting the open road and heading to brunch at the famous Hillbilly Cider Shed on the Bells Line of Road, Bilpin. We will meet at ‘The East Bank’ carpark, right on the Nepean River in Penrith and head west on the Great Western Highway for 72km until we reach Mid Hartley Rd, Hartley. Here we will take a right turn and head across the Valley, up Brown Gaps Road, onto Hartley Valley Road which eventuates into Chiefly Road. And finally becoming Bells Line of Road, which we will follow for around 50km to our destination and brunch-stop in Bilpin. At arrival the team at Hillbilly Cider have really gone above and beyond for our group; they’re opening early, have put on some extra staff to help us park and ensure all the food and drink come out promptly! We can’t thank them enough for helping make this social drive and brunch the best it possibly can be.
In total we’ll cover 138km, completing a loop of the Blue Mountains making for an extremely scenic and flowing country road social drive.

After brunch you’ve got options! You can decide to check out some of the local attractions (such as; Bilpin Fruit Bowl, The Grumpy Baker or The Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens) or continue east on the Bells Line of Road for another 40km taking you right back into Richmond and then The Hills district. We wanted this drive to truly be a loop, taking us from almost our local area and returning us to it.
