What You’ll Learn: The Social Development Strategy is a transformative approach to youth and community wellness that focuses on five key elements:

  1. Opportunities: Discover ways to give young people meaningful roles in the community, from leadership positions to projects that build their confidence and sense of purpose.
  2. Skills: Learn strategies to help youth build essential life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, preparing them for a successful future.
  3. Recognition: Explore methods for acknowledging young people’s efforts and achievements, motivating them to engage in positive, healthy behaviors.
  4. Bonding: Strengthen connections between youth and adults, peers, and the community to foster supportive relationships that build resilience and trust.
  5. Clear Standards: Understand how to set and communicate clear expectations for behavior, guiding youth toward choices that align with positive community standards.

Meet Your Expert Facilitator: Dalene Beaulieu, from the University of Washington’s Social Development Research Group, brings a wealth of expertise to this training. With over 16 years working on the Communities That Care (CTC) model, Dalene has been instrumental in expanding the program globally, reaching communities in Central and South America as well as Europe. Her experience and insights will provide practical tools and inspiration for fostering supportive environments where young people can thrive.

*This training is ideal for community leaders, educators, parents, and anyone invested in creating a supportive environment for youth.
