SOAP Up The Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto Show will bring nearly one million people to the Detroit area during this year's event and we know that large events such as this quadruple the demand for commercial sex in the area. We are looking for volunteers to help SOAP Up Detroit.

Volunteers are needed to label bars of soaps and makeup remover wipes for local hotels and put together the educational folders. This is very hands on and great for people of any age.

After the work is done, stay for the training by founder and survivor Theresa Flores on how to spot the signs of human trafficking. Then take it one step further and help us deliver the materials along with crucial missing teen posters to hundreds of hotels and motels in the Detroit area. You can join another team (we like 2-4 people per team) or bring your own team and select what part of town is best for you to go to. You will be given 4-6 hotels to visit and can be done the next day if necessary.

Agenda:

9:30 am - Registration & Breakfast

10:00 am - 10:30 am - Bag the labeled soaps & wipes & make the folders for the hotels

10:30 am - Training on how to recognize the signs of trafficking and what to say to the hotels

11:30/12pm- Drive to hotels to deliver information, supplies, and posters

Training appropriate for middle school aged and older.

Must be 16 or older to go to the hotels with an adult.

DONATIONS: It takes hundreds of dollars to run an outreach but we cant put a price tag on stopping human trafficking and the potential of recovering a teen being trafficked!
