So You Want to Structurally Assess Your Story
with Underground Writers editor Jess Gately
Costs: $35 members, $50 non-members. Online booking fees also apply. To avoid paying fees, please phone KSP directly to book and pay by debit/ credit card: 9294 1872.
This workshop is brought to you by the KSP Writers' Centre with support from the Shire of Mundaring. Tea and coffee provided.
How do manuscript assessors approach elements of style, character, plot and pacing? What techniques can you use to identify and polish these aspects of your work? Jess Gately discusses how she approaches manuscript assessments and structural edits, what notes she takes while reading, and how she pulls it all together to figure out what is and isn't working. She'll look at common issues she sees in the manuscripts she works with and common solutions to these problems, and offer suggestions to writers looking to critically assess their own manuscript.
Target Audience: Adult and young adult prose writers looking to develop their craft and improve a piece of writing, either short story or novel.
