Join us for an informative workshop with Genevieve Kirk, Center for Nonprofit Excellence Director at the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois, and learn the fundamental steps to start a charitable nonprofit organization in Illinois.
Nonprofit organizations play a growing role in the social and economic well-being of our community as they provide services, goods and resources to meet community needs. Join this session and learn the key ingredients to:
· Define your purpose and programs
· File articles of incorporation
· Draft bylaws
· Develop a board of directors
· Optimize your organization’s fundraising efforts
· Determine if a nonprofit corporation structure is the most suitable way to address your community need.
This interactive session concludes with a Q & A format where you will have an opportunity to get feedback from Genevieve and alums of the Community Solutions Incubator, an initiative of the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois.
