Snowdrops have been a favourite at York Gate since the first three bulbs were bought by Robin Spencer for three shillings and six pence. These original bulbs are now naturalising through the Dell and Nutwalk. The original seedlings were selected from Samuel Arnott’s garden in Dumfries, Scotland.
