Snakes of the PineywoodsBy the middle of May, our local snakes are out in force. To learn more about the many species that park visitors may encounter, join us in the Nature Center on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m. for this program which will include an opportunity to have a close-up look at a variety of live specimens.
Among the possible species that visitors may get to meet are such local ophidians as the Western Ribbonsnake, Eastern Copperhead, Northern Cottonmouuth, Western Ratsnake, Eastern Hog-nosed Snake, Broad-banded Watersnake and several others. This program is open to reptile enthusiasts of all ages.
