About this Event
Snails on a Bike is a Chicago-based Theatre Collective specializing in performing plays in site-specific, found spaces. We are so excited to be presenting How to Defend Yourself by Liliana Padilla! In this play, seven college students at a DIY self-defense workshop face the insidious ways rape culture steals one's body and sense of belonging. With sharp humor and brutal honesty, How to Defend Yourself explores what we want, how to ask for it, and the violator and violated inside us all.
We will be performing at Cheetah Gym in Andersonville in the downstairs front studio room. When you arrive, turn to the right and you'll see an open door into the studio! We will have someone there to check your ticket and a QR code to scan for the program. Please pay attention to show times as they vary for each date due to working with the gym's class schedule! Show runs 90 minutes with no intermission.
Content Warning: violent and derogatory language, reference to rape/sexual violence, physical violence, recommended for 18+
