SMW September Monthly Meeting. Monday September 15, 2025, 6:00 pm.Join the Wheelmen at Outdoor Knoxville Adventure Center 900 Volunteer Landing Lane, Knoxville, TN, Monday September 15 at 6:00 pm.
In this month’s meeting two of our fellow Wheelmen members will present.
Have you ever wondered why cyclists ride in groups or how to stay safer on the road? Curious about what a paceline is and how it works? Want to better understand Tennessee's laws around road cycling? Cameron Weems’ presentation is designed to answer those questions—and give you the chance to ask any others you've been curious about but never had the opportunity to ask. Come out and join us at the Smoky Mountain Wheelmen meeting to connect with fellow club members and learn more about riding in a group.
We have all had technical questions on communications through the website/emails and use of bicycle computers. Dave Landrum will answer questions that are common before many group rides.
• How to download routes for the ride
• How to convert routes that my bicycle computer can load.
• How do I find todays ride on my bicycle computer.
• What type of hills are riding today?
• Why did I not get an email about a group ride?
Cameron Weems has been passionate about cycling his entire life and loves spending time outdoors. With years of experience on a race team, he has competed in a wide range of disciplines, including Road, Gravel, Cyclocross, Fat Bike, Mountain Bike, and Triathlon. He also served as captain of both the Road and Gravel teams. Since relocating from Michigan to Tennessee two years ago, he’s discovered the challenge of real hills and developed strong climbing skills. More than anything, Cameron enjoys riding with others—sharing his knowledge, helping riders improve their technique and bike fit, and building lasting friendships along the way.
Dave Landrum is originally from Michigan, though he moved to Knoxville area six years ago from Louisville, KY. He spilts his time between Knoxville area and Northern Michigan. He is an avid road rider with twenty five years of experience and a ride leader for the Smoky Mountain Wheelman. He enjoys group rides with both The Smoky Mountain Wheelman and the Cherry Capital Cycling Club out of Traverse City Mi.
