Workshop will cover the topics below:
- Forest Restoration, Recreation, and Wildlife: advanced regeneration, in particular -> encouraging natural regeneration of Oak and Hickory trees, which can be useful to those who are considering non-plantation timber management.
- Wildlife Bird Boxes
- Invasive Species Treatments: 1 year, 2 year, untreated. Good areas vs bad areas.
- Good Road and Maintenance of Roads: water bars, turn outs, etc.
- Canopy Gaps: promoting oaks and hickory trees
- Using Grazing Livestock to Underbrush: effective, non-selective, go for the easy things first and can chew down desired plants including young trees - future forest
- Early Succession Habitat: native wildflower meadow & riparian buffer (If time allows)
