Join us for an afternoon of tea under the ‘stars’ as we turn The Hearth into a campfire lit glade for our first tea tasting in our new space! (No rooms will be harmed during this class and all bonfires are pretend.) We’ll gather around the fire to learn about the history of smoked teas and try out five very different flavors of smoked teas.In the beginning, people gathered around fires to prepare tea, so it’s probably no mystery why the history of smoked teas is as ancient as the history of tea itself. From Asia to South America, many ancient cultures flavored their teas with smoke, creating almost an alchemy of smoke and water. Learn about the different methods as you experience the smell and flavors for yourself.
We’ll explore a tea flavor wheel and use it to find your own personal favorite from the selections.
While tea may be the star here, food is the supporting cast. Along with the teas, we’ll enjoy campfire themed treats. Hearthstone always offers a personalized menu to suit your allergies without you missing out on any fun.
