I am thrilled to be invited to program this wonderful event that I started way back then, when Smith's was born again from Beth and Nigel's loins.
The Smith's Varietal was an opportunity for a diverse range of artists to jump on a stage and try things out. It was never curated - just the first people who applied, were programmed to do whatever they wanted every Wednesday night.
For the Anniversary REEEEMMMIIIXXX, I have programmed a range of performers from the past decade. There will be music, performance art, poetry and some uncategorisable happenings.
AND I am stepping in to my stagefright because I love this event so much, and will be MCing.

Smith's Varietal is open to all comers. There's no restrictions on genre, style, vulgarity, art form. We will accept virtually anyone or anything. Anything interesting, unusual and entertaining. But not illegal and not degrading to the human spirit.
