Introducing the Machine is the efforts of two Vancouver, Washington based musicians, Sarah Arslanian and Eileen Cowen. The duo collaborated on many projects over the last decade and officially launched as a band in 2023. Their original music features country-folk harmonies combined with a rock-punk mentality. The Machine also performs pop, country, and rock covers, and can also spin some mean DJ sets, all while mesmerizing audiences with witty banter and conversations about the silly and poignant parts of life.The art and music of Introducing the Machine highlights themes of disillusionment with the trappings of society, explores the unattainable standards imposed on women, and plays off some of the more hilarious aspects of humanity. They also sing love songs.
This free public event is part of the Smiley LIVE! concert series. It's family-friendly, with a Q&A segment where young and old alike can ask the performers questions about their music, their performance, and anything else they may be curious about.
