*SMILE EMPTY SOUL* is a hard rock band originating from Los Angeles, CA, in the late 1990s, known for staying true to their brand of "no bullshit," "real as it gets" hard rock. In 2003, the band signed a major label record deal and released their self-titled debut album in May of that year, achieving significant success on alternative radio, rock radio, and music video channels.
After three highly successful singles/videos and a gold record from the debut release, the band faced challenges with their record company, which was undergoing turmoil at the top levels. Subsequently, they found themselves working independently, signing to indie labels or choosing not to be affiliated with labels at all. This marked SMILE EMPTY SOUL's destiny, leading them to release numerous albums and EPs on various labels, including their own company, "smile empty music inc."
The band recently launched their 9th full-length record, *Black Pilled*, on October 12th, 2021, entirely on their own. Renowned for their constant touring and unwavering honest sound/lyrics, "Smile" has maintained their identity and declined opportunities to "sell out."
With a calendar filled with tour dates, a new album, and the same drive they had starting out 20 years ago, SMILE EMPTY SOUL aims to build on the legacy they've created as one of the hardest-working and most underrated bands in rock and roll.
