On Saturday 8th October I will be leading a photo walk around the waterways of Smethwick. Here we will be able to see many points of interest, including two levels of canal, two tunnels and the magnificent Galton Bridge.This walk will also include a rare opportunity to see inside Smethwick New Pumping Station, built in 1892. In other words, there will lots of photo opportunities.
Effectively this will be a circular walk which should last 2-3 hours, beginning and ending at Smethwick Rolfe Street railway station.
All levels of expertise and users of all types of camera welcome. Photo tips will be given if required.
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking on uneven towpaths. You may wish to bring your own food and a drink as opportunities to purchase these locally are limited.
There will be no charge for this event.
