Un drame tourné en dialecte allemand sur une jeune paysanne entre la recherche de soi et la tradition familiale.
Le commerce du lait n'est plus rentable depuis un certain temps déjà. L'agriculture en général est en crise, de plus en plus de fermes doivent fermer. De plus, la tradition veut que ce sont les hommes qui héritent de la ferme, mais Katinka s'accroche à l'exploitation familiale, elle suit une formation d'agricultrice et cherche un avenir dans une région qui se souvient surtout du passé.
Le premier film de Justine Bauer, qui a des allures de documentaire et est interprété entre autres par des acteurs non professionnels, brosse un tableau authentique de la vie rurale dans le sud de l'Allemagne, entre idylle et détachement.
La musique du film est signée par la violoncelliste et compositrice autochtone canadienne Cris Derksen.

A drama spoken in dialect about a young farmer making her way in a family tradition.
Milk has been an unprofitable commodity for a while now. Farming in general is suffering, and more and more farms are closing down for good. Traditionally, it's the men who inherit the farm, but Katinka holds on to the family business, trains as a farmer and is seeking her future in a place that remembers how things once were.
Justine Bauer's documentary-style debut film, featuring a cast of non-professional actors among others, paints an authentic picture of rural life in southern Germany in a field of tension between the idyllic and the isolated.
The music of the film is by Canadian indigenous cellist and composer Cris Derksen.
