About this Event
Please join cityLAB-UCLA for a content-rich evening aimed at help teams prepare for the forthcoming Request for Qualifications. The RFQ is the second stage of the City of LA's initiative.
While all are welcome, we encourage developers and architects planning to submit or seeking to learn more about the initiative’s next steps to attend. Alongside networking opportunities, cityLAB will provide:
- An overview of the RFQ, the suite of development incentives available to teams, and the forthcoming steps in the process from RFQ release through to groundbreaking.
- A review of the 12 city-owned sites included in this initiative, along with a discussion of their base yields, relevant housing policy, and site categories.
- Four representative development proformas for sites in the RFQ. These proformas were produced in collaboration with mddl, an organization with deep expertise in missing middle housing development, and will be presented by the mddl team. The proformas will take into account the development incentives and financial structures outlined in point one above, and can act as references for teams interested in understanding potential development approaches.
The event will be hosted at the AIA Los Angeles Center for Communities in West Adams, Los Angeles. Drinks will be available for purchase.
Please RSVP on this Eventbrite page by Thursday, December 4th, 2025. While tickets to the event are free of charge, capacity is limited, so we ask that you please register.
cityLAB is grateful to LA4LA, BMO, the L.A. Mayor's Office, and the L.A. Housing Department for their continued support and partnership. Without them, this work wouldn't be possible.
