About this Event

Running a food business in Boston takes grit, creativity, and community. But we don’t often get the chance to come together, share ideas, and talk about what we need to thrive.

Join Marvin Mathelier, candidate for Boston City Council At-Large and co-owner of Ula Café, for an after-hours gathering of restaurant, café, bakery, and food truck owners from across the city. Hosted by Marvin’s wife and Ula Café co-owner, Beth Santos, this is an afternoon to connect, collaborate, and be heard.

This event is part of Marvin’s campaign to listen first and lead with the voices of our community. There’s no pressure to support — but you’ll also learn more about Marvin’s vision and hopes for Boston, while contributing your own ideas to strengthen our city’s food business community.

What to expect:

🍴 Optional: bring a signature small bite from your business to share

🤝 Network with other Boston food business owners

💡 Join roundtable conversations on how the city can better support restaurants and food entrepreneurs

📣 Share your ideas directly with Marvin

Light refreshments will be provided.

Let’s share small bites and big ideas for a stronger future for Boston’s food businesses.

Meet Marvin

As you may know, our Ula owner Marvin is running for Boston City Council At-Large. He's the only person running for city council at-large who's a small business owner. This will be a casual chance to meet him, hear about his hopes for the future of Boston's small business scene, and share questions, ideas, and issues with him too.
