Shreveport Little Theatre invites you to audition for A Soldier’s Play by Charles Fuller, a powerful and gripping drama set in a segregated Louisiana Army camp during World War II.
Directed by Robert Alford II, this riveting story begins when Sergeant Vernon C. Waters is found murdered. As tensions rise across the base, suspicions grow—was the killer a white officer, a fellow Black soldier, or someone driven by racial hate? Captain Richard Davenport, a Black officer from Washington, D.C., is brought in to investigate. As he digs deeper, shocking truths and emotional wounds surface, revealing a tragedy far greater than the crime itself.
