About this Event
Whose it for? Youth (16yrs+), Active Members & Parents (who hold or are working towards attaining a valid award)
At Sorrento SLSC last season we added 35 New Bronze Holders; 65 New SRC Holders and requalified over 400+ patrolling members; this season we are on target to train 60+ New SRC’s and 50+ New Bronzies. This doesn’t include all of the IRB, ART, First Aid courses also run by the clubs trainers. In short we need more trainers to spread this load.
The SLS Training Officer course is an incredible opportunity for parents / members to take an active role in our youth / active members, surf lifesaving journey while making a meaningful contribution to the Sorrento SLSC.
By becoming a qualified Training Officer, you’ll not only deepen your understanding of vital lifesaving skills but also empower the next generation of surf lifesavers with the knowledge and confidence they need to keep our beaches safe.
This course allows you to support your child and their peers by delivering essential training in rescue techniques, first aid, and water safety—skills that save lives. More than just a qualification, it’s a chance to be part of a strong, values-driven community that fosters teamwork, leadership, and service. Whether you’re looking to enhance your own skills, give back to the club, or simply share in your child’s passion, the Training Officer course is a rewarding and inspiring pathway to make a real impact.
