The SLS Memorial Scholarship was created after the unexpected passing of Sandy Steinberg in 2019. Sandy devoted more than 20 years to her students in the Learning Support Program at Abington Heights.
She knew how to guide her students to discover their strengths, conquer their weaknesses and made each of them believe they could achieve any of their goals. She truly lived to better the lives of her students. Her open-door policy, infectious laughter (and snacks) always filled her classroom with joy. And she was completely and totally obsessed with ducks.
The scholarship is awarded annually to an Abington Heights senior learning support student who embodies Sandy’s work ethic, spirit, humor, dedication, and desire to help others.
Thank you for helping us celebrate Sandy's life and the impact she had on those who knew her. If the degree of your life is measured by their impact on others, Sandy lived an incredibly full life.
Cost is $25 for yoga; 10 raffle tickets and refreshments.
