In this anonymous-looking hotel, strange things are happening on the 12th floor.

A relationship goes sour. A depressed young person waits for a lover’s text. A pig demon drags people to hell. Fireworks. Bad times never sounded so good.

In spring of 2023, Dan Safer, Ken Urban and his band Occurrence joined forces with MIT’s

Theater Arts program (yes, MIT has a theater program!) to devise a dance theater piece based

around Occurrence’s new album SLOW VIOLENCE. Filmmaker Brian Truglio was there to

document the show.
