The upcoming Slovenian History, Cultural and Cuisine Festival will offer a day of free and public events from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Attendees can enjoy introductions by Miro Medved, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia, discussions on Slovenian culture by Joseph Valencic and Professor Marge Pryately, and a historical overview by Norman Setnicker.
The festival will also feature an Albin Zaverl painting exhibition focusing on Slovenian culture and Minnesota iron mining, as well as exhibits on Bishop Baraga and Monsignor Buh.
"The Singing Slovenes" will perform a two-hour concert of Slovenian music and songs, and a genealogy facilitator will be on hand to assist with searches.
From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a ticketed Slovenian Festival Cultural Buffet and Program will take place, limited to 96 attendees. This evening segment includes a social hour with Slovenian libations and wine available for purchase, continued viewing of exhibits, a Slovenian ethnic buffet with cultural music by Rosanna Omersa, and a preview of the Slovenian Union of America's 100 Years Celebration in 2026.
