—NoRo RevCo = no rotating reverse coed sixes (details below)
—8:30am arrival - 8:45am meeting - 9:00am first serves.
—Address = 2139 Logistics Way, Murfreesboro, TN, 37127
COST & PAY OUT:
—Costs $240 per team ($40/player for a team of six).
—This tournament will be capped at 20 teams.
—Pay out purse depends on total number of teams.
REGISTRATION:
—Message Timothy Spurgeon Carlson directly to save your team a spot.
—Captains must sign a waiver and pay in full via Venmo the week of the tournament.
FORMAT DETAILS:
—Participants must play as their biological sex at birth.
—Just like in doubles, triples, and quads, there is no rotating in this format.
—Only females are allowed to play front row, so every team must have at least three females.
—Because men can't play front row, the maximum number of males per team is three; the minimum number is two.
—For teams with four females, only the three who are front row are allowed to block and hit at the net.
—Before the game begins, each team must announce to the refs and to the other team who their three front row players are. That decision cannot be changed during a game, but it can be changed from game to game.
—Likewise, only one male per team is allowed to hit from behind the ten foot line. Before each game begins, each team must announce to the refs and to the other team who that male is. That decision cannot be changed during a game, but it can be changed from game to game.
—Because there is no rotation rule, players on both teams can stand wherever they want before the serve.
TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:
—Pool play followed by seeded, single elimination bracket play.
—The criteria for bracket seeding after pool play will be as follows: win-loss record, point differential, head-to-head, coin toss/odd or even/random trivia question/medieval joust.
RULE HIGHLIGHTS:
Standard indoor sixes rules apply, with the following highlights:
—Doubling the first contact is legal as long as the double contact was made in a single attempt to play the ball, and as long as the ball was not sent across the net. It's the same rule the women are using in the NCAA.
—The spiral molten ball is the default game ball.
—Any net touch during play results in a loss of point. If the ball is down before the net touch, there is no violation.
—If a player's entire foot crosses the center line, it is a fault regardless of whether it affected play or not.
