Help keep Smith Lake clean!
Join the Smith Lake Environmental Preservation Committee (SLEPC) and Alabama Power for the Renew Our Rivers/SLEPC Smith Lake Cleanup on Friday, October 10th.
- Lunch is provided for all volunteers!
- SLEPC ROR Cleanup T-shirts are provided to all volunteers!
- All we need is YOU.
Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Smith Lake Park Boat Launch for sign-in and safety guidelines. We will load the boats and head out to clean areas around Simpson Creek and Ryan Creek. There will be a morning trip, a lunch break at Smith Lake Park, then an afternoon trip. Shirts will be handed out at the end of the cleanup.
If you can't commit to the entire day, but would like to help in the morning or afternoon, email SLEPC at [email protected].
**Many companies provide paid time off when you volunteer for a community service project. Check with your employer to see if they provide this benefit! **
Please wear clothes and shoes appropriate for picking up trash (long pants, sturdy shoes/boots). Please apply sunscreen and insect repellent.
If you are not a member of SLEPC and would like to join, . You do not have to be a member of SLEPC to help with the cleanup.
If you can't physically help with the cleanup, you can still help by donating to SLEPC. .
