Skeptical young detective Ichabod Crane is sent to small village of Sleepy Hollow, New York, tasked with investigating the murders of three people, all found decapitated. While Crane tries to sniff out the culprit, the nervous townspeople attribute the murders to the legendary specter known as the Headless Horseman!
