The centerpiece of any panto is The Dame - a comic, larger than life character played by a man. In our production, our Dame is actually a woman playing a man who is playing a woman - Nelly Nutmeg. The male lead role, the Principal Boy, is always played by a woman. In our production, this is Prince Rhod.An important aspect of any British panto is plenty of audience participation. Join in with the characters as they sing the silly song and warn them of what's behind them - like in a Kasperle Theater!
