Sleep has historically been viewed as a passive activity with little value, yet research in the last several decades has shown that sleep is a dynamic process vital to physical and mental health. Chronic deficient sleep has been correlated with increased risk of suicide, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, aggression, and a host of medical disorders. The purpose of this course is to educate on sleep needs, the effects of chronic sleep deprivation, and how to better support healthy sleep.
