Michael Peter Olsen
Cellist, film composer, producer and Grammy-nominated songwriter Michael Peter Olsen has played his “post-cello” compositions for audiences the world over — sometimes under his own name, sometimes as part of the shoegaze act Zoon. His latest album, Narrative of a Nervous System for Hand Drawn Dracula showcases his ability to drift between ambient and pop music with experimental grace. It features contributions from Owen Pallett and alaska B from YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN.
shn shn
Transitioning from her singer-songwriter roots as Shanika Maria, shn shn emerged in 2019, driven by a fascination with production that conveys emotions and sensations beyond the confines of language. Her most recent release Form(s) explores the essence of existence with a smooth cocktail of electro-folk songwriting and peaceful soundscapes.
Evan Hardy
Multi-instrumentalist Evan Hardy is creating solo sonic explorations inspired by his archaeological background. He delves into these ideas with minimal ambient melodies that blend acoustic instruments with modular synths and tape machines. His latest release will be out this spring on the Tool Use imprint, promising to captivate audiophiles with the innovative fusion of sound.
More Than Nothing
In the rich soil of local experimental music, the multidisciplinary ensemble More Than Nothing moves together in their own version of harmony. This quartet intertwines flute, violin, and electronic alchemy to craft a medley of improvised soundscapes. Each ephemeral performance blooms like wildflowers, a unique and singular avant-garde bouquet of sound.
