Sled Island presents: HiTech, sydanie and SuKha Never Dies HiTech
Motor City ghettotech trio HiTech combine rap, experimentalism and a plethora of electronic genres for a high-charged take on club music. A positive review by Pitchfork of 2023 album Détwat called their music a “joyful release” and “funny as shit,” praising the way it traced underground rap and club music with an eye towards building a genre all their own.

sydanie
Jamaican-Trinidadian rapper Sydanie rhythmically slips between an array of electronic production styles that don’t really belong to any set genre of rap. Vocally, she can go from deadpan to braggadocious to sensual — all within one song. Start with “Bubble 4 a Winna” and look forward to a new album coming this year.

SuKha Never Dies
Influenced by both Bollywood and heavy metal, SuKha Never Dies smashes any barrier that dares to hold her back with her experimental flavour of R&B and trap. Filmed in Cape Town, the 2023 video for the single “Goddess” is a fitting entry point to SuKha’s stylish world of fiery visuals and powerful performance.
