MANCHESTER, NH – On Thursday, September 26th, 2024, Slam Free Or Die - Poetry Open Mic & Slam continues its popular open mic poetry series at Stark Brewing Company. This week there will be an open mic followed by a special Among Us slam! Doors open at 8:00 along with sign ups for the open mic. The show starts at 8:30. For tonight only, there is a $3-$5 sliding scale cover (cash and Venmo) and this is an all-ages show. (*for more details on Slam Free or Die, scroll to the bottom of this description)IMPORTANT: To give everyone a chance to be heard on the mic, we are asking poets to pick either the open mic OR the slam. Doing both events is prohibited.
About the Slam:
This is a themed slam; regular slam rules apply with some adjustments. Each round will be 2 minutes with a hard cut time. Poets are all given a prompt for each round, however ONE poet every round will be given a slightly different prompt. Every round, 2 poets are voted out by the audience as to who they think is the “imposter”!
If the imposter makes it to the final 2, they automatically win (since there’s no crew mates to convince); however, if the imposter gets voted out prior, the remaining poets will compete in a head to head write off, where audience members will then vote for the best poet. The winner receives an Among Us themed prize pack!
Covid Safety Guidelines:
Our space is pro safety and pro vaccination. We encourage all unvaccinated individuals to wear masks during our show. We will have disposable masks available for those who need or would like one and hand sanitizer will be available throughout the space. We encourage everyone who comes to our show to take safety precautions necessary for their safety and health.
Accessibility Information:
The entrance to our show is at the back of the building with no stairs to enter the space. There is a ramp through the main bar for access to the ADA compliant bathrooms. For any other accessibility questions message our page or ask a staff member at the show.

Slam Free Or Die @ Stark Brewing Company is a series of open mic nights for poets and spoken-word artists every Thursday night in Manchester, NH. There is an open mic every night and poetry slams are also held several times a month. Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7pm with open mic beginning at 8pm. Featured poets and slams follow the open mic. Come and enjoy the delicious food and beverages at Stark Brewing Company! There is a $3-$5 cover charge.
