SLAM (Storytelling, Lettering, Art, and Marketing) Academy is an advanced course taught by professional artists, writers, and historians at Bat City Comic Professionals. Each course will challenge students to take their writing, art, and understanding to the next level. These courses are designed to give students the opportunity to get hands-on opportunities usually reserved for college level courses. These are challenging classes meant for advanced students of any age. Workshops are $40, and limited to 10 students per class. Scholarships are available. Workshops are $15, and limited to 10 students per class. Scholarships are available.
**Beginners interested in learning about comic creation should attend one of our FREE Comic Creation Workshops offered monthly in-store.
WORLD BUILDING
Students who participate in this class will learn:
- How to create rules for your world
- How to develop cultures and customs
- When to use pictures and when to use words to build your world (show vs tell)
- When it is acceptable to break the rules and how you do it successfully
- Research techniques
- Using setting as a character in your story
- Drawing your world's map and images

A deposit of $25 must be made by April 25. Tuition must be paid in full 3 weeks prior to class start date.
