SLAM (Storytelling, Lettering, Art, and Marketing) Academy is an in-depth, advanced course taught by professional artists, writers, and historians at Bat City Comic Professionals. Each course will challenge students to take their writing, art, and understanding to the next level. These courses are designed to give students the opportunity to get hands-on opportunities usually reserved for college level courses. These are challenging classes meant for advanced students, or students looking to define their skills, at any age.Workshops are $40 and limited to 10 students per class. Scholarships are available.
**Beginners interested in learning about comic creation should attend one of our FREE Comic Creation Workshops offered monthly in-store.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Students who attend this class will learn:
- Types of characters and how they are used
- How to build a lead character that is believable
- The ins and outs of working with minor characters
- Character Motivations
- How to build a backstory
- How to create dialogue that fits a character
- What makes a villain great
- And more

A deposit of $15 must be made by April 25. Tuition must be paid in full 3 weeks prior to class start date.
